At Chico's we're doing Ocean Mile theater as a relaxing respite not another obligation to race to. In the great tradition of that music form, we want people to ease into this cool jazz lounge, settle back and review the menu, order a cool drink, a bite to eat, whatever the palate desires. Then the lights dim - It's Show Time, aaaah. Doors open at 3 PM.

Art to imitate life in Asbury Park with ‘Ocean Mile’

CORRECTION: I provided a wrong bit of terminology for this report. Historian Werner Baumgartner wasn't jailed for zoning code violations, it was property code violations. Apparently, zoning code violations cover serious infractions that can result in faulty buildings that can fall on people, not failing to paint your house. My apologies.

"Ocean Mile" Readys for Show Time

Maureen Nevin's Two-Act Comedy "Ocean Mile - About redevelopment in a strangely familiar short town", which opens July 24th at Chico's House of Jazz, held its second rehearsal last night.  Welcomed to the cast that stars Rae Tutella and Paul Nixon, of Bradley Beach, was Lorraine Stone of Eatontown. Recently, Gwen Lewis of Neptune,  and Tylik "Tigga" Railey, currently of East Orange, also joined the cast.
